The World Cup squads do not bring delight for all the players. While the players who make it to the squad definitely feel lucky and happy, the same cannot be said about the ones who miss out. But while some manage to deal well with the setback, some do not. Recently, Ambati Rayudu had sensationally taken a sly dig at India’s chief selector MSK Prasad after failing to find a place in India’s World Cup squad. Similarly, Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed could not make it to Bangladesh’s World Cup squad either.

Taskin was widely tipped to be one of the pacers in Bangladesh’s squad along with the likes of Mashrafe Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman and others. However, the Bangladesh selectors instead picked newcomer Abu Jayed. The pacer recently impressed in the Test series in New Zealand which probably paved the way for his maiden World Cup call. Interestingly, Jayed has not even made his ODI debut, having only played 5 Tests and 3 T20Is so far.
