During the sixth over of the first innings, a stumping chance was created on Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery.  Liton Das stepped out of his crease and was unable to make contact with the ball. Pant could not have asked for an easier chance and he did take off the stumps in a flash. However, in doing so, he ended up making a very silly mistake.

He collected the ball in front of the wicket, which is considered as a no-ball. The wicket keeper has to collect the ball behind the wicket in order to stump out a batsman.

The mistakes from Pant, nonetheless, did not cost India much as the hosts won the game  by eight wickets to draw level in the series. Rohit Sharma starred with the bat, scoring 85 to help India chase down the total inside 16 overs.
