Just hours before departing to New Zealand for the upcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup, Prithvi Shaw & Co. could not have asked for a better send-off speech, as they were given a pep talk by the senior Indian team’s skipper Virat Kohli.

The 29-year knows a thing or two about the Under-19 World Cup, having led India to the title in 2008.

Both India senior and U-19s will be travelling to their respective destinations on the same flight via Dubai. While the juniors are headed to New Zealand, Kohli & Co. are on their way to the challenging tour of South Africa.

But just before the departure, Kohli took some time off from his schedule to interact with the colts and share his vast experience.

Kohli also has ample experience of winning a World Cup at the highest stage of the game, as he was an integral part of the side that won the World Cup in 2011.

BCCI’s Twitter handle posted few pictures of the interaction between Kohli and the Under-19 players along with the caption:

“Just the kind of boost the young India U19 team needed before their departure for the World Cup. India captain @imVkohli spent some time with them, and there was sure a lot to take for the youngsters.”

Early in the day, Kohli, while speaking to the media in Mumbai, Kohli had revealed Under-19 head coach and former India skipper Rahul Dravid had asked him to interact with the boys.

“I’ll be meeting them. Rahul Dravid had asked me to talk to them.If you’re getting an opportunity at this age with live telecast and media coverage, it needs to be respected because you get very few opportunities like this. When they saw us on live TV, did people realise how well we play? It’s a very big opportunity which needs to be understood well. But it is more important that the players don’t take much pressure on themselves and enjoy this,” he said.
