Virat Kohli just keep on raising the standard on cricket field. It does not matter whether he is batting or fielding, the India skipper rarely fails to deliver. On Wednesday, he proved it once again be effecting a stunning run out to send back Henry Nicholls in the ongoing first ODI against New Zealand in Hamilton.
Henry Nicholls was well-set and was batting on 78. On a good batting track, the Indian bowlers were not really managing to test him much. His partnership with veteran Ross Taylor had also crossed the 50-run mark as New Zealand were replying strongly in their pursuit of 348.
And at a time when nothing was working out for India, Virat Kohli came up with a moment of magic to give India the much-needed breakthrough. Taylor tried to flick a Jasprit Bumrah delivery but failed and the ball after hitting his legs fell just near the pitch.
In the meantime, Henry Nicholls had set for a quick single and perhaps did not realise that it was Virat Kohli who was standing at covers. As soon as the New Zealand batsmen left their crease for the run, Virat Kohli came charging in from the covers, collected the ball, made a flashy dive and dislodged the bails with an underarm throw to catch Nicholls short of his crease.
As soon as the zing bails lit up, Virat Kohli knew that his work was done and he let out a roar.

Earlier in the game, India posted a mammoth total of 347 for 4 in their allotted 50 overs after being asked to bat first. Shreyas Iyer starred with the bat, scoring 103 while Virat Kohli and KL Rahul also hit fifties.
