Watch: Virat Kohli Reveals The Best Footballer In The Indian Team
While Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are probably the first two names when one associates the Indian cricketers with the game of football but surprisingly none of the two are the best footballers in the Indian cricket team.
As the players are gearing up for the much-awaited Celebrity-Clasico against the Bollywood Stars which will be played on October 15 at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai, Kohli in a candid chat with Star Sports host Jatin Sapru spoke about the strategy, his FIFA ratings, best footballer in the team and more.
The chat began with Sapru asking Kohli: “Who is the appointed goalkeeper of your team?”
In reply, Kohli said:” We actually don’t know. Shami was pretty good at goalkeeping when we played football with the team last time. But I am not sure who is going to take up the gloves this time around,” he said.
The India skipper further spoke on what should be his FIFA rating and went on say that in his head he is Cristiano Ronaldo, the reigning Ballon d’Or holder.
“Someone asked me what would be FIFA rating, I said 98. Not below that at all. I am good at shooting, my right foot is good, my left foot is good. As a footballer, I think I am a complete player. In my head I am Ronaldo,” he said.

Speaking about the strategy, the 28-year old said: “I feel that best part of my game is sprinting and passing the bowl accurately to the guys who score goals. MS (Dhoni) I think would be right winger because his pretty quick as well or may be he can be centre-forward as well. His positioning is very well and he reads passes very well.
He concluded by revealing the best player in the team.
Manish (Pandey) is the best footballer in the team. He is playing in the midfield position,” he said.
Meanwhile, the game is an initiative by Cornerstone Sport and GS Entertainment and will see the likes of M.S. Dhoni, K.L. Rahul, Rohit Sharma from Team India and Ranbir Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Dino Morea from Bollywood showcase their football skills in front of a packed stadium.
Kohli’s team named All Heart Football club will square off against All Stars Football club captained by Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan.
