Rohit Sharma’s brilliance sealed the thrilling T20I for India against New Zealand. In a game where fortunes swung from one side to another, it was Rohit Sharma who showed his class to make the difference in the game. At one stage, it looked like a lost cause for India as they managed to collect just 8 runs off the first four balls in the super over while chasing 18.
Rohit Sharma had managed to only take a double and a single in the two balls he faced in the super over so far. However, the right-handed batsman once again showed why he is regarded as the best opener in the world right now as he hit the remaining two balls for two huge sixes to seal the game for India.

And as soon as Rohit Sharma hit the second six, the entire Indian team including captain Virat Kohli ran out on the pitch to celebrate the famous win. The win helped India register their first-ever T20I series win in New Zealand. Quite unsurprisingly, Virat Kohli was the most animated character as he celebrated Rohit Sharma’s sixes by shouting and punching the air in delight.

Earlier in the game, Rohit Sharma’s first fifty of the series helped India post 179 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. He scored 65 from just 40 balls and added 89 runs with KL Rahul for the first wicket. India were looking set to cross the 200-run mark when Rohit was batting. However, the middle-order batsmen failed to capitalise this time around.
In reply, New Zealand looked set to win the game with their captain Kane Williamson playing a stunning knock of 95 runs. They needed just 1 run from the final ball when Ross Taylor was facing Mohammed Shami. But the veteran batsman was cleaned up by the India pacer before the game was decided by the super over.
