Just when Royal Challengers Bangalore needed their talismanic skipper Virat Kohli the most, the batsman delivered. Kohli smashed a stunning century against Kolkata Knight Riders to end his IPL hundred drought. After smashing four in the 2016 season, the Royal Challengers skipper had not scored any century in the past two seasons. However, he finally ended that streak on Friday with the Knight Riders being at the receiving end.

Kohli now has five centuries in the IPL. Riding on Kohli’s stunning ton, the Royal Challengers posted 213 for 4. Moeen Ali also played an important knock, smashing 66 runs. Virat Kohli, meanwhile,  is 2nd in the list of most century makers behind Chris Gayle who has 6 hundreds. David Warner (Sunrisers Hyderabad) and Shane Watson (Chennai Super Kings) have 4 hundreds each.

The right-handed batsman scored exactly 100 before being dismissed on the final delivery of the innings.  Virat Kohli’s knock contained 9 fours and 4 sixes.

“Virat is an amazing player. Especially the running between the wickets; him and AB keep me running,” Moeen Ali said after the innings.

However, the highlight of the knock was the hilarious Mankad-type incident that took place on the final ball of the 18th over. Just when Sunil Narine was about to deliver the bowl, he pulled out of his delivery stride. However, before Narine could affect another Mankad this season,  Virat Kohli hilariously pointed out that he was well within the crease. Narine could not much except smiling as he walked back. Kohli too broke into smile as he said something to the Knight Riders star.

Here is the clip of that hilarious incident:
