Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma gave a hilarious answer to a question on his conversations with Ravichandran Ashwin during the off-spinner’s time outside the playing XI. This came in the post-match presentation after India beat Afghanistan on November 3rd in Abu Dhabi’s Syed Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Ravi Ashwin made his comeback into the India T20I team for the first time since 2017 and picked up a wicket after 2016. He ended up with figures of 2/14 in his 4 overs and along with Mohammad Shami, who picked three wickets helped India beat Afghanistan by 66 runs in a crunch match of the tournament and also got India’s net run rate in positive.

However, India’s chances for semi-final qualification depend on the faith of New Zealand. If New Zealand loses to either Afghanistan or Namibia and India wins their remaining two matches by huge margins, the Men in Blue will go into the semi-finals. But if New Zealand wins both of their matches, then they will qualify for the knockouts.

“The Conversation Between Me And Ravichandran Ashwin Throughout The UK Tour Was All About Where Should We Take Our Kids”- Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was the main reason for India’s win over Afghanistan as his 74-run knock and the 140-run opening stand with KL Rahul, helped India post a formidable 210/2 in 20 overs. KL Rahul made 69 runs and the duo achieved their fourth-century partnership in T20Is. Then, Hardik Pandya with 35* in 13 balls and Rishabh Pant with 27* in 13 balls, rampaged in the death overs taking India to beyond a very good score.

Rohit Sharma was named as the Player of the Match for his amazing half-century which consisted of 8 fours and 3 sixes in total.

During the press conference, Rohit Sharma came up with a hilarious answer when asked about his conversations with teammate Ravichandran Ashwin during India’s four-month-long tour of the UK.

Rohit said, “The conversation between me and Ashwin throughout the UK tour was all about where should we take our kids, which park should we take them, it was nothing about cricket. He has two beautiful daughters, I have got a daughter as well. We were only discussing which theme park should we be going to during our off-time.”

Here is the video:

India will now need to beat both Namibia and Scotland with huge margins and hope that New Zealand loses to Afghanistan or Namibia in hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021.
