The latest person to appear on Yuzvendra Chahal’s recently-started Chahal TV is fast-bowler Mohammed Shami. The India pacer appeared on the show after starring with the ball in the third ODI against New Zealand on Monday. The likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had already appeared on the show and the fans thoroughly enjoyed the players’ candid interviews. Well, Shami also did not disappoint either as he spilled the beans on some dressing room secrets.

Shami was the Man of the Match in the third ODI which India won by 8 wickets to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. The right-arm pacer, who recently became the quickest Indian bowler to pick 100 ODI wickets, picked up 3 for 41. In the process, he also became the first Indian bowler to win two Man of the Match awards in New Zealand, having won the award in the first game as well.

Shami gave India a solid start with the ball by sending back Colin Munro early. He later dismissed a well-set Ross Taylor (93) and Ish Sodhi, helping India bowl out New Zealand for just 243. In reply, India chased down the total inside 43 overs at the loss of just 3 wickets. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli starred with the bat, scoring fifties each before Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik shared an unbeaten stand fifty-plus stand to take India home.

While speaking to the pacer, the leg-spinner referred to him as “Lalaji”.
