It looks like former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is obsessed with fair skin. The wicketkeeper-batsman had landed in a huge controversy last year for a racial slur towards South Africa allrounder Andile Phehlukwayo during an ODI match in Durban.

Halfway through the 37th over of the match, Phehlukwayo inside-edged a Shaheen Afridi delivery to deep fine leg for a single. He was on 50 at the time and as he ran off to the non-striker’s end, Sarfraz was caught clearly on the stump mics saying, in Urdu: “Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj?” which meant: “Hey black guy, where’s your mother sitting today? What [prayer] have you got her to say for you today?”

After facing flak from all around Sarfaraz Ahmed had apologised to Phehlukwayo in person as well as the rest of the South Africa team. He was later slapped with a four-match suspension by the ICC for understandable reasons. And Sarfaraz Ahmed has now given yet another example of his obsession with fairer skin.

In a recent video that is going viral on internet, the Pakistan star could be seen saying: “We are looking gora (fair) bro.”

Here is the video:

Sarfaraz Ahmed, meanwhile, has not played for Pakistan since the T20I series against Sri Lanka which his side lost 0-3. Soon after that humiliating whitewash at home, Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked as captain of the Test and T20I side and was replaced by Azhar Ali and Babar Azam respectively. Sarfaraz Ahmed was also dropped from the team and is yet to get a recall.

Recent reports, however, suggest that he could get a recall soon as Mohammad Rizwan has struggled to do well.
