Hashim Amla, who is part of the South Africa side that toured previously to India feels that the Indian National Cricket Team has been brilliant all sections of the game. He expressed his disappointment with the current team but hopeful of them getting better in the upcoming series, especially, the youngsters.
Barring their first innings in the opening Test in Vizag, the Proteas never really troubled India in the three-Test series as their batting slumped in every match. At Vizag, Dean Elgar and Quinton de Kock’s century-plus partnership helped them post 431. It was the only time when they showed their mojo at the crease.
They have dominated us – Hashim Amla
Hashim Amla believes that the current Proteas were at a loss to answer the questions posed by a dominant India side as the South Africans slumped to another disappointing defeat.
Speaking in the SuperSport studios after another poor day’s cricket from the South African team, Amla said that his heart went out to the squad. ‘They’ve just dominated us and unfortunately, we haven’t had answers to their probing questions, consistent questions,’ said the former Proteas batsman.
Coming to the series, the Indian National Cricket Team led by Virat Kohli sealed the series with 3-0. Thus, they also received 120 points for the series victory, which kept them on the top of the ICC World Test Championship.
It was quite a series for a lot of players in the team. Especially, Rohit Sharma, who smashed 529 runs in the 4 innings he played as an opener. The series also witnessed three double-century makers with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal knocking runs for the team.
For South Africa, not for a moment have the visitors looked in their elements over the last few weeks. There have been those occasional frustrating partnerships, especially for the 9th wicket, barring that, nothing at all.
