Chennai Super Kings’ skipper, MS Dhoni has opened up after his side’s loss to SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Matchday 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). SunRisers Hyderabad won their second game of IPL 2020 beating Chennai Super Kings by 7 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Batting first, SunRisers Hyderabad posted a challenging total of 164-5 in their 20 overs, courtesy a Priyam Garg special in their innings. Chasing the target, CSK had a very poor start as their opening batsmen departed quite quickly and from then on, the series just continued. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a gritty partnership towards the end but it wasn’t enough for CSK to cross the line.

Eventually, Chennai Super Kings ended up on 157-5 in their 20 overs and Chennai lost their third game on the trot as they have had a very poor start to IPL 2020.

MS Dhoni Opens Up On CSK’s Loss To SRH

“I was not able to middle a lot of deliveries, maybe trying to hit the ball too hard. Looking at the outfield, it was subconscious. I’m alright, the throat starts to get dry in these sort of conditions. Long time back, we may or may not have lost three in a row,” MS Dhoni said.

“We have to get a lot of things right. It’s the professionalism – dropping catches, bowling no-balls. We’re making the same mistakes again. After the 16th over, we had two bad overs. Overall we could have been slightly better. Nobody wants to drop catches, but at this level you have to draw a line that these catches have to be taken,” MS Dhoni added.

MS Dhoni further stated, “Catches like these can really hamper your knockout stage games. What if this was a knockout game? There are plenty of positives in this game. A few areas to improve and we’ll come back stronger.”

CSK have now last their third game of IPL 2020 out of the 4 games that they have played so far. They are on the bottom of the IPL 2020 Points table. SRH, on the other hand, have recorded their second win of the tournament and have moved to the 4th spot in the points table.
