Well, it has been a hard last few days for KL Rahul in his career on and off the field. He failed to garner runs for the team across the formats and then got the suspension for his remarks in a talk show. However, he is back to the game but unfortunately, couldn’t find a place in the Indian National Cricket Team. Meanwhile, the chief selector MSK Prasad backs him.
The flamboyant batsman has been removed from the team and was asked to represent India A. Surprisingly, he is failing to knock runs for the team even at that level, which kept his participation in ICC World Cup 2019 a question mark.
KL Rahul is too good a talent to miss-out scoring: MSK Prasad
Meanwhile, the chief selector of the selection panel believes that it is the phase, which will be experienced by any cricketer. He added that KL Rahul has got the fine talent with him to make things fall in place for him. He is sure that Rahul will be back in the national team.
Further, he went on to add saying that they will be backing the player for the talent he has got. MSK Prasad wants KL Rahul to score runs in the India A matches to push for a place back in the Indian National Cricket Team.
“Everybody goes through those phases. Even the greatest of players have their ups and downs in their careers with regard to their form. We want KL to be among runs and that’s why we have included him against England Lions and BP XI match,” Prasad said. I think when a player who has done extremely well and is out of form, that’s where we need to back him. I am sure KL will get back to form and get back into Indian team as well.”
“He is too good a player not to be playing. We know the quality that he has. Unfortunately, his form has dipped, there are no two ways about it. We really want him to make a strong comeback by getting runs in whatever matches he gets. I am sure he will do so,” he inferred while speaking to Sportstar.
Well, it would be interesting to see KL Rahul’s progress in the domestic circuit. He is just one good knock away from getting back to the team. Rahul is the strong contender for one of the two slots left for the grand event.
His opportunity against England Lions in the 4-day game will most probably decide his fate for the selection against Australia in ODI series at home.
