The All India selection committee chief MSK Prasad has confirmed that they want to give enough chances to Rishabh Pant before the World Cup 2019. Pant was given rest from the ODI series against Australia and New Zealand. However, he received his chance in the T20I series against New Zealand. Thus, MSK Prasad wants to give an opportunity to Pant so that he can prove his mettle.

Meanwhile, Pant has already grabbed his chance in the red ball version. The southpaw batsman had scored 350 runs in the four-match series against Australia as he was the second highest run-getter in the series.

Pant gets his chance.

Meanwhile, Pant received a rest after the grueling Test series against Australia. In fact, MSK Prasad had earlier also said that Rishabh Pant is very much in their World Cup plans.

MSK Prasad said while talking in the press conference regarding the chances to Rishabh Pant, “Yes definitely, because prior to this, we had two series in Australia and New Zealand, that’s where Karthik was chosen. Because Rishabh played four Test matches, so we wanted him to get a good break. So, he had a 20 days break. Then he played a couple of One Day matches against England Lions in which he did really well. Then we sent him to New Zealand for the T20I series. So, we want to give enough chances to him before the World Cup”.

Rishabh Pant has done a good job in the recent past and he would like to prove his worth in the ODI series against Australia. The first ODI will take place on March 2 at Hyderabad.

Pant has impressed with his pyrotechnics and will like to grab his chances with both hands. Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik was unfortunate to miss out in the ODI squad.
