Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen is currently in South Africa shooting for his documentary. Meanwhile, he shared his views on the team that has the chance of winning the 2019 World Cup. However, the mega event will be hosted by England this time commencing from May 30, 2019.

Moreover, the veteran believes the weather will also play a crucial role in the tournament. Pietersen further added if there is a sun, it will be an even contest. On the other hand, if the weather remains cloudy during most of the part of the event, then there will be a lot of pace and swing. However, he reckons it will be challenging to stop England from winning the 2019 World Cup this time.
“It’s going to be very weather conducive, so whoever deals with the weather I think is going to win the World Cup. If it’s a beautiful summer, it opens it up a lot to all the different teams. But if it’s overcast, cloudy and the ball starts to swing and seam, then England are definitely front-runners.” Kevin Pietersen said.

Further, the 38-year-old felt the quality of cricket has deteriorated in the last few years. Pieterson argued it was much better only a few years ago.
“I think the world of cricket is actually suffering. I’ve done an interview recently, I don’t think the standard is what it used to be, and I’m only talking six, seven, eight or nine years ago,” he added.
Kohli is a global superstar – KP

Also, Kevin Pieterson further argued on the matter and said there was a time when the standard was magnificent. However, he praised Indian skipper Virat Kohli as a global superstar in recent times. The right-hander also named some former cricketer with whom the current players cannot match the quality of the game.
“The standard was magnificent then with guys like [Kumar] Sangakkara, [Brett] Lee, Chris Gayle, [Dwayne] Bravo, Brian Lara, and all these other great players. I don’t see many of them around anymore, Virat Kohli is probably the only global superstar in cricket right now. Ten years ago, there were great Australians that we used to play against, such as [Ricky] Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, and all those guys. I mean, the world of cricket is suffering.” Kevin Pietersen concluded.
