The star England all-rounder, Ben Stokes has thanked the technology but rued to come out and bat again after getting dismissed is bizarre. The incident took place during the first day of the third Test in St. Lucia. England who trails the three-match Tests 0-2 needed lady luck to shine on them to salvage pride; well, it happened. Ben Stokes, who got caught and bowled by the pacer, Alzarri Joseph at the fag end of the day; ended up coming back from the pavilion to bat again, after it got discovered Joseph had over-stepped.

It wasn’t the best of feelings – Stokes

Though any batsman won’t mind batting again after getting out legitly, Stokes wasn’t the fan of such an outcome. Meanwhile, Joseph had produced a brilliant effort to get Ben Stokes packing; as the all-rounder wore a stunned look on his face while walking towards the pavilion. At the time when he had entered the dressing room, the left-handed batsman was upset with the dismissal and was thinking continuously of the same.

It was about time when the word spread the youngster had over-stepped. Stokes, who was sitting on his chair with his pads on had to walk down on the ground to bat again. However, a general notion would say he has to be delighted about it but ask Stokes; he had a different answer.

Ben speaks on the no-ball incident

After England lost just four wickets for 231 at stumps on day one, Ben talked in detail on the episode. He said,

“I’ve never been in the changing room and called out to bat again, that is a first for me and it’s probably something that they need to get control of,” Stokes said of the no-ball incident. “I don’t think in international cricket you should be walking off and being in the changing rooms and then being back out there two minutes later. Thank God for technology.

“I was just sat in my chair with my pads on and then I thought someone had got out because of all the shouting, but then the shout was ‘no-ball and you’re in’ so just bizarre. I just had to get myself back into the right frame of mind out there. I had to try and let it go and make sure I was not out at the end of the day.” Ben Stokes said.

Meanwhile, England will want to make the best of the starts they have got in the series. With Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali to follow, the Poms would want to score anything above 350.
