After an incredible victory in the first Test against England, the Windies Cricket Team has retained the whole squad for the second Test, which is to be played at Antigua. The fast bowler Oshane Thomas, who was called up as the cover in the first Test has been joined to the team to make it 14-member squad for the second Test.

Thomas was called in as cover for Alzarri Joseph ahead of the first Test in Barbados. It was the game, in which, Windies won by 381 runs. Joseph was returning from a back injury but managed to play the first Test. He scalped three wickets to his name.

The 21-year-old has represented the Windies in white-ball cricket but has yet to break into the Test side. Having impressed the Windies selectors, Thomas will remain with Jason Holder’s side. He could earn his first cap if given the nod on Thursday.

Oshane Thomas will be additional bowler: Courtney Browne

Speaking of the inclusion, the chairman of selectors Courtney Brown, quoted that they were pretty happy for the team’s stunning show in the first Test. He wants everyone to perform the same and knock down the visitors yet again.

Further, he quoted that the young fast bowler will be the additional bowling option for Jason Holder in the upcoming Test. Perhaps, they are eyeing to give him the debut cap, which made the selectors add him to the main squad by removing the ”Cover-up” tag.

“Oshane Thomas was with us in Barbados as cover. Now, he has been added to the squad as the 14th player. He will remain with the team as an additional fast bowler,” the chairman of selectors quoted.
