Women's Asia Cup 2018: Twitter Reacts to India's Massive Win over Pakistan
Updated - 10 Jan 2019, 12:16 AM
Indian women have continued their domination in the Asia Cup 2018 after thumping arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets to enter the finale of the tournament.
Harmanpreet Kaur-led team won their fourth match to seal a spot in the finals. Women in Blue were able to beat Pakistan by seven wickets.
Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof decided to bat first after winning the toss. However, the Women in Green could only manage a paltry score of 72 in the allotted 20 overs. Consequently, the Indian bowlers bowled with discipline to keep a tight grip on the proceedings.

India has won the Asia Cup on all six occasions.
Left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht was once again the chief destroyer of the Pakistan innings. Bisht scalped three wickets and gave away just 14 runs in her four overs quota. Shikha Pandey, Anuja Patil, Deepti Sharma and Poonam Yadav contributed with one wicket each.
However, Pakistan failed to achieve any impetus in their innings. Opener Nahida Khan and middle order batswoman Sana Mir were the two players to reach double-digit figures.
On the other hand, Indian Women didn’t have the ideal start, as they lost the wicket of former skipper Mithali Raj in the very first over. Both Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma made their way back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers.
However, southpaw batswoman, Smriti Mandhana scored a fine 38 off 40 balls to take India close to the target. Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur gave the finishing touches to the innings. She scored an unbeaten 34 to take India to the finals of the tournament.
India women might play Pakistan or Bangladesh in the final which will get decided tomorrow. Bangladesh Women will make the cut into the final if they are able to beat Malaysia Women. In fact, Bangladesh had already surprised India once in the competition.
India have won all the editions of the Women Asia Cup.
