Nepal made a strong comeback after losing their first game in the World T20 Asian Qualifiers beating Malaysia by seven wickets in a rain-marred encounter at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore.
Batting first, Malaysia got off to the worst possible start. They lost both their openers for ducks in the first over with Sompal Kami wrecking havoc with the new ball and on a challenging wicket. Although Syed Aziz took on Sandeep Lamichhane in the next over before Kami came back in the next to claim his third. He dismantled the timber of Aminuddin Ramly with a brilliant delivery to have Malaysia at 31 for three in just three overs.

Chasing 84 runs, skipper Gayandra Malla gave Nepal an outstanding start with support from non-strike Pradeep Airee. Malla took the onus on his shoulder to score a fine half-century to lead the chase for Nepal. He scored five fours and three massive sixes to bring his fifty in just 20 deliveries as Malaysian bowlers found it hard to find a breakthrough. Muhamad Syhadat finally got the better of Malla in the sixth over, but it was too late to make a comeback for Malaysia.
