World T20: Twitter Reaction: Smriti Mandhana hits 83, India in driver seat
Updated - 17 Nov 2018, 11:29 PM
Indian opener Smriti Mandhana was at her robust best against a strong Australian side. The women in blue are one of the top contenders in this edition of the World T20. The explosive southpaw was at her best smacking boundaries at will. The clash of the table toppers witnessed some lusty blows in the first half of the game and there are many more to come in the second half of the game.
The Aussies are currently at the top of the Group-B with a better run-rate compared to India. Harmanpreet Kaur-led India are unbeaten in the tournament so far. They have beaten New Zealand, Pakistan and recently Ireland. The star-studded team have sealed a semi-finals spot and Mandhana had earlier said that India will go all guns blazing. She did live up to her works.
She hit a six to reach the magic figures of 1000 runs in T20I cricket. One knee down, the cricketer hit the ball over the ropes for a maximum. She is only the second cricketer after Mithali Raj to achieve the feat.
Smriti Mandhana walks the talk
That’s what our mindset will be, and to go all out. Before coming into the World T20, Ramesh Powar (coach) had told us that you have to dominate each and every match, so that is the only mindset which we had the last three matches, and I don’t think it will change in the next match,” ICC cricket.com quoted Mandhana as saying. Mandhana was dismissed for 83, her highest score in T20I format.
Captain Kaur missed out on a fifty by mere seven runs but she too player her part. The hard-hitter ensured that the momentum stays in favor of the Indians and kept finding the gaps. The cricketing world is full of praise for the women side as they continue to impress the spectators and cricket lovers.

The hoick to midwicket by Smriti Mandhana reminded one of the way Sourav Ganguly used to play that stroke #indwvsausw #WomensWorldT20
