Team India’s tussle of finding a regular wicketkeeper-batsman doesn’t seem to stop at the moment. Since MS Dhoni’s departure from Test cricket, Wriddhiman Saha had been the regular first-choice keeper for the Men in Blue.
However, tables turned during the recently-concluded India-New Zealand Test series wherein Rishabh Pant was prioritized ahead of Saha and Pant’s poor performance raised eyebrows of the critics once again.

Although it seems an unending battle among the wicketkeepers to gain a place in the team, things seem absolutely fine when it comes to camaraderie among the players.
Wriddhiman Saha Advises Rishabh Pant On His Keeping Skills
“We (me and Rishabh) keep joking around. We train together and we keep talking about the game and otherwise also. He always tries to give his best. There are few things which we have had a chat about,” Saha told IANS.

“I have told Rishabh a few things which he will try according to his comfort zone. He will try during training. It’s not like he will do it for one day and it will work. So, if he feels those things will work for him, he will try and implement them in his training,” Saha said.
Team Is Above All: Wriddhiman Saha

“We all play for India. The team decides the best combination and we have to respect that. I had played the last series, he (Rishabh) did not play. In New Zealand, he played and I did not. Individually, yes we all expect to play. But ultimately the team is first,” Saha said.
Saha will be 36 by the time India’s next Test tour to Australia comes around later this year and it will be interesting to see as to who will the BCCI nad team management prioritize over the other.
