Wriddhiman Saha has been regularly keeping the gloves for India after MS Dhoni retired in 2014. But due a recent shoulder injury he lost is place to young Rishabh Pant. The Delhi wicket-keeper batsman was subsequently groomed to fill in the big boots of MS Dhoni across formats. However, Wriddhiman Saha, still remains as an option for back-up keeper but has not lost hopes.
Saha has played 37 Tests for India and has been regarded one of the finest keepers for the national team. In these matches, the Bengal cricketer was involved in 92 catches and 11 stumpings from the behind. Saha was a part of the national team squad during the tour of New Zealand earlier this year but Pant was preferred over him.

Wriddhiman Saha: It was not as if I was not talking to him, if he is playing
Wriddhiman Saha is unfazed by the competition with Rishabh Pant. The veteran believes in himself and said he is a motivated person since childhood. Saha also said he shares a good bond with Pant, adding they play playstation together. He also clarified it is never the case that he would not speak to Pant because he was not picked up because of him.
“I am a motivated person since my childhood days. I don’t worry much when I don’t perform well, I don’t go and sit in a corner. I appreciated Rishabh Pant and texted him when he scored a hundred in England,” Wriddhiman Saha told Sports Tak.

“I also talked with Rishabh Pant when he came at NCA and he told me about the swing moments in England. It was not as if I was not talking to him and saying that your are playing and I am sitting outside and so I will not talk to you. We are good friends and even play games together on play stations,” he added.
Saha has scored 1238 runs in the longest format at an average of 30.19.
