Yashasvi Jaiswal’s rise from rags to stardom is a perfect example of what one can achieve if one has the relentless grit, desire, and motivation to achieve his/her goal.

From working part-time to staying at a dairy shop to then selling Pani puris, Jaiswal’s hard work finally paid off last year when he shot into reckoning courtesy his exploits in the Vijay Hazare 50-over tournament.

Jaiswal’s exploits earned him an elusive Rs 2.4 Crore with the Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 IPL auction and the left-handed 17-year-old, who was also named as the ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the U-19 World Cup is looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the likes of Steve Smith and Jofra Archer in the upcoming IPL.

“I am really excited to meet Steve Smith. It is going to be a big opportunity for me. I have seen him play, but IPL and RR have given me the platform to meet the legendary batsman and learn from him. I want to ask him about his mindset. I will ask him about the technical aspects of the game and how he prepares before a match,” Yashasvi Jaiswal told Times of India.
