India’s young sensation, Yashasvi Jaiswal has opened up on his U19 World Cup success at South Africa recently. Jaiswal seems to be a star in the making for India. He had a sensational campaign in South Africa as he ended up scoring three half-centuries and a century. It was due to his efforts that India were the runner ups of the tournament.
He played a key role in the final of the tournament too. Where all the Indian batsmen failed to deliver, it was due to Yashasvi’s performance that India could put up a fighting total in the game against Bangladesh.
Yashasvi played a crucial knock of 88 runs in the final. However, his valiant efforts went in vain as India lost the final to Bangladesh by three wickets at Potchefstroom.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Opens Up On His U19 World Cup Campaign:
Jaiswal has now revealed the reason behind his success at the U19 World Cup. Jaiswal has revealed as to how he practised his batting skills for pitches that are there in South Africa.
“I was either playing or leaving short-balls. There is bounce on astroturf wickets like how it is there, so I batted on astroturf wickets and that worked,” said the 18-year-old.
“It was a very good experience, to play in a different country, where the wickets were also different. And I enjoyed batting as I was batting for longer duration in the games as well as in the nets. “I learnt a lot while playing and also learnt on how to deal with pressure, as pressure was there during most of the games,” the left-handed opener said.
Jaiswal was the Man of the Tournament at the recently held U19 World Cup. He played some beautiful knocks throughout the tournament. His most important innings came at the grandest of stages when he scored a century in the semi-final of the tournament against arch-rivals Pakistan.
Jaiswal will now play for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in this year’s IPL and if he displays another magical performance, he might be in selectors radar, for the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled this year in Australia.
