Yograj Singh, former India cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh, has once again taken a shot at MS Dhoni as well as Virat Kohli. Time and again, Yograj Singh has criticised MS Dhoni for not backing his son and he has now accused Kohli of the same.

Known for his bold statements, Yograj Singh has claimed that both Dhoni and Kohli betrayed Yuvraj, saying that the two back-stabbed the former India batsman. Yuvraj Singh, who is one of the greatest match-winners to have played for India, retired from the game last year after failing to make the cut for the World Cup.

The left-handed batsman, in fact, never really managed to cement his place in the team after his miraculous recovery from cancer. In 2017, he made a comeback to the ODI team after more than 4 years. He made an instant impression by playing a knock of 150 against England in the home series but could not build on that performance.

Just months later, he was dropped from the team after the tour of West Indies and was never recalled after that before he brought down curtains on his illustrious career. The latter half of Yuvraj Singh’s career did not really unfold as widely expected and Yograj Singh continues to blame Dhoni for the same.

Recently, Yuvraj also opined that in terms of captaincy, he did not get as much support from Virat Kohli and Dhoni, as he got from former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

“Along with these two, I would say that even the selectors betrayed him. I had met Ravi recently. He asked me for a photograph. I called him and pointed out that all great players should get a send-off based on their performances. When Dhoni, Kohli or Rohit retire, I would request the board to give them a good send-off as they have done so much for Indian cricket. Many have backstabbed him and it hurts,” Yograj Singh told News24 when asked whether Yuvraj was betrayed by Dhoni and Kohli.

Yograj Singh further slammed former Indian selector Sharandeep Singh and took a dig at the BCCI for appointing selectors who were less experienced.

“Indian selector Sharandeep Singh, he used to go to meetings and say that Yuvraj should be dropped. Such people are appointed as selectors who do not know ABC of cricket. What do you expect from them? It hurts when someone backstabs you. Everybody was worried about what would happen to them if Yuvraj continues to perform,” claimed Yograj Singh.

Recently, Yuvraj Singh had said that he did not get the same support from Dhoni and Kohli that he got from Sourav Ganguly. He had also said that Suresh Raina always had the backing of Dhoni and the Uttar Pradesh allrounder was also being considered for the 2011 World Cup squad ahead of him.

When asked whether it was true, Yograj said, “What’s new in that? I also got to know, even though I am not sure of how much of it is true, that in one of the meetings, someone said that the Indian team doesn’t need Yuvraj as Suresh Raina is a part of the team. I did not say so. Yuvraj himself said so and I have heard many cricketers say so as well.”
