There is a specific reason as to why she considers Mushfiqur Rahim as her idol. When asked about that, she explained in a very beautiful manner. “Mushfiqur’s height is the same as mine. I always prefer to see someone as my idol who has the same height as mine and who is also a wicket-keeper batsman. He played exceptionally well in the last game. The way he hit four fours in a row after Krunal dropped the catch, it’s something like a dream for a wicket-keeper batsman.”
She also plied her trade for Kalabagan in Bangladesh and was keen to meet him and Shakib Al Hasan at time. But unfortunately, that didn’t happen as the cricketers were a bit busy in another tourney. At last, Riddhi’s dream came true as she met her idol. She took some useful tips and got clicked some candid pictures.
“Last year, I came to Bangladesh to play for Kalabagan. I went to see Mushfiqur and also wanted to meet Shakib. But they were busy in another tournament,” she added in a statement.
Riddhi Ruparel explains why she idolises Mushfiqur Rahim:
Many might have a doubt in mind as to why she picked Mushfiqur Rahim in the first place when there are already so many Indian cricketers to look up to. For that, she said: “Yes, I like Indian cricketers as well, like MS Dhoni. But their playing style is very different. Mushfiqur’s playing style is like mine, that’s why I see him as my idol.”
