Pakistan’s legendary batsman, Younis Khan has raised questions on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the Under 19 team lost to arch-rivals India in the U19 World Cup semi-final. India beat Pakistan by 10 wickets to reach the third consecutive final of the ICC U19 World Cup. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a blistering hundred and made sure India finished by fine margins.

Bowling first, India restricted Pakistan to a dismal score of 172 runs. Chasing the target, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyansh Saxena cruised past the score in scintillating fashion with the former scoring a match-winning century. PCB has come under a lot of fire from its own legends after the loss. Now, Younis Khan seems to have taken a dig on the national board.

Younis Khan Targets PCB after Humiliating Loss to India

Younis Khan has once again targetted PCB for destroying the sport in the country. “We need to improve Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure. PCB has no clue what needs to be done. We need to provide safety and gain the confidence of the new generation. Pakistan’s defeat at the hands of India in the Under-19 (U19) Cricket World Cup was saddening. I believe that the rival team played with maturity and confidence,” Khan said.

“Pakistan’s young cricketers need to be trained to be better-rounded rather than just working on their skills. India’s success was because of their confidence. Our rising stars should be given more chances to play abroad and their encounters should be televised,” he added.

Team India are now in the final of the ICC Under 19 World Cup for the second consecutive year. They will now face Bangladesh in the final on Sunday. Bangladesh thrashed New Zealand in the second semi-final by seven wickets to reach their first-ever final of the tournament. India are the current favourites to win another U19 world cup this year.
