Global T20 Canada made a resounding start to their tournament with world-class stars entertaining the fans to fullest. But the last few days have been tough for the organisers after news broke of Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal being approached by a former player for match-fixing during the ongoing tournament. Things turned more hostile when the players of Toronto Nationals and Montreal Tigers refused the board the team bus over a payment issue.

Yuvraj Singh has made a grand entry into the Global T20 Canada after announcing his retirement from international cricket. Although Toronto Nationals didn’t have a great start to the campaign winning only two of the five matches, but Yuvraj has thoroughly entertained the fans in Canada. They were scheduled to take on George Bailey-led Montreal Tigers today, but the game got delayed due to technical reasons.

As per reports in Cricbuzz, Montreal Tigers and Toronto Nationals refused to board the team bus to the CAA Center for today’s @GT20Canada match over outstanding player payments. The cricketers didn’t turn up for the game even 75 minutes before the game. However, later on, the organisers from their official Twitter account confirmed that the match will start from 12:00 AM IST. They also confirmed that it will be a 20 overs tie.

“The match between @MontrealTigers and @TorontoNational has been delayed due to technical reasons. The game will now start at 2:30PM local time. It will be a 20-over-a-side match,” Global T20 Canada tweeted.

Meanwhile, the cricketers from both teams – Toronto Nationals and Montreal Tigers have finally reached the ground and will begin their pre-match training shortly.
