Yuvraj Singh refused to comment on the Mohammed Shami fiasco and said that it is their matter and didn’t say anything about it as it doesn’t bother him. Yuvraj was present in a cricket academy at a school in Sonipat Haryana. Yuvraj, who has bee out of the national team for quite a long time, refused to comment on his one-time teammate when enquired about Shami and the allegations his wife levelled against him.

Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has levelled several bailable and non-bailable charges against him and his family members. She revealed that Shami had several extra-marital affairs and was involved in adultery. She also accused him of attempting to murder her.

The BCCI decided to withheld his contract after his wife made several allegations. The charges included an attempt to murder, rape, domestic violence and many more. Shami is in big trouble if charges stick.

However, the fast bowler has denied all the allegations, and until everything is clear to us, it won’t be right to comment. It is not clear if BCCI inquiry has anything to do with Ms. Jahan’s allegations.

Shami played an integral part in helping India win the final Test against the Proteas in Johannesburg. He has been a permanent member of the Test team, and hence in all likelihood, he should have bagged either an A contract or the B category.

He was removed from the contract list only after the allegations. So even if the BCCI hasn’t made it clear, it is quite obvious that on what basis the decision was taken. It is a pretty unfortunate situation for Shami. However, he will look to recover from this jolts and return to the Indian team pretty soon.
