Former India National Cricket Team speedster Zaheer Khan has picked his 15-man squad for India for the upcoming World Cup 2019. Zaheer Khan has selected Rishabh Pant in his squad, who he thinks could be an X-factor in the forthcoming ODI showpiece.
Furthermore, KL Rahul has found his place in Zaheer Khan’s team. Rahul has been out of sorts in the ODI team. In fact, the flamboyant batsman has been in poor form while playing in the red ball version of the game. Zaheer believes the team can also ponder the option of any speedster in place of KL Rahul while picking the side for Cricbuzz.
On the other hand, Zaheer Khan has picked Ravindra Jadeja in his team. Jadeja made a solid return to the ODI cricket and he can deliver the goods for the team with both bat and ball.
Meanwhile, the core of the team remains the same. India’s top three batsmen Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli has done the bulk of the scoring. Former skipper MS Dhoni has returned back to form which is a big boost for the team.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah have done a fine job at each end of the innings. Mohammed Shami has filled in the shoes of the third seamer after his comeback to limited over format. Furthermore, Hardik Pandya is back into the side and the Baroda all-rounder provides the balance with both bat and ball.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have been brilliant for the Men in Blue. The spin battery has provided the breakthroughs in the middle overs, which has been made a lot of difference. Thus, these players have been instrumental in the success of the team.
Here is Zaheer Khan’s India’s squad for the ICC World Cup 2019:
Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Dinesh Karthik/Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul/Fast Bowler.
