India and Pakistan have played a lot of nail-biting encounters in the past especially in ICC events and they will clash against each other yet another time in the upcoming T20 World cup. This was one of the most epic clashes between the two sides in the ICC T20 World cup 2007. It started with a lot of rain and Pakistan elected to bowl first in a must-win game for India. Mohammad Asif ran through the Indian batting order with an outstanding spell of 4 wickets for 18 runs and Uthappa was the top scorer for India. Pakistan was set a target of 142.

In reply, Pakistan needed 1 run from 3 balls, and Sreesanth managed to bowl 3 dot deliveries consecutively which took the game into a tie. The winner would be decided by a bowl out in which India hit the target on all their 3 deliveries. Pakistan used two-seamers in the first 2 deliveries and in the end, failed to hit the stumps on all their 3 chances. India won the dramatic game and went into the Super Eights.

The ICC Worldcup 2011 semifinals between India and Pakistan were closely fought as India won the toss and elected to bat first. India posted a respectable score on board with 260 for the loss of 9 wickets. Sachin top-scored for India while Wahab Riaz picked up a fifer in the game.

Pakistan in reply needed one big partnership which did not happen at all, and in the end, Misbah Ul Haq was again the lone man standing against India with a valiant half-century. The openers provided a fluent start for India with Navjot Sidhu top-scoring and a quickfire cameo from Ajay Jadeja helped India post 287 on the board.

In reply, Pakistan fell short by 39 runs and the defending champions were sent out of the tournament by India with an emphatic win. The skipper Aamir Sohail scored a brisk half-century but lost his concentration after involving in an ugly incident with Venkatesh Prasad and lost his wicket the very next ball.

Pakistan opted to bat first in the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 and they scored a big total on board. Shoaib Malik scored a century and he formed a great partnership alongside Mohammad Yousuf who scored a half-century. Pakistan finished with 302 for the loss of 9 wickets in their 50 overs quota.

India in reply lost regular wickets at intervals and couldn’t manage to form big partnerships. Rahul Dravid was the only limelight in the batting order scoring a hard-fought 76 and Pakistan won the game at the end by 54 runs.

This was in the 2003 ICC Cricket Worldcup where Pakistan batted first and put up a respectable score on the board. Saeed Anwar produced a brilliant century and helped his nation to propel up the score of 273 in the first innings.

India chased down the score in 45.4 overs with six wickets in hand, as Sachin Tendulkar top-scored with 98, and the important part was India were reeling at a stage with 4 wickets for 177 runs but Yuvraj and Dravid joined together and remained unbeaten until the end of the game.
