Death Bowling is an art in T20I cricket. It requires a special skill set and mental strength to be able to deliver the most crunch period of the game. Overs 16-20 is a period in the format here the batsman is trying to hit every ball for a four or six and maximize the run-scoring opportunity. In that phase, if you give less than seven runs an over, you are considered to be a good death bowler.

Rashid Khan boasts of an economy of 7.27 during death overs in T20Is since 2016. He is in the top 5 bowlers in the ICC rankings for the shortest format of the game. He plays around different T20 leagues all across the globe and have mastered the art of death bowling. For Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, he almost defended three to win his team in the Super Over. Since 2016, Rashid has 93 wickets in the format.

Jasprit Bumrah – 7.39

Jasprit Bumrah is a T20 specialist and his growth in the format has to be given to the amount of IPL cricket he has played. He is on 99 T20 matches for Mumbai Indians in his IPL career and internationally he has played 50 T20I games having made his debut in 2016.

In the death overs, Bumrah has the second-best economy of 7.39. He rarely goes for runs in the final phase of the innings and he often does the job for his captain. Making his international debut in 2016, Bumrah has already picked up 59 wickets in the format and is the only bowler after Ravindra Jadeja to pick up 50 or more wickets in every format for India.

Mohammad Amir- 8.11

Mohammad Amir announced his retirement from ODI after the 2019 World Cup. He exposed the dark side of Pakistan cricket since his retirement. He has been time and again speaking about the bad man management of the officials and coaches headed by the PCB. Since 2016, he bowled at an economy of 8.11 and has been among the best in the death overs. He has picked up 36 wickets in the format since that period.

Mustafizur Rahman- 8.59

The last name in this elite list is that of Mustafizur Rahman. He has been a bowling revelation in Bangladesh cricket and especially so in T20Is. This has been his most favored format having played across different T20 leagues as well.

Since 2016, he has bowled at an economy of 8.59 in T20Is and has taken 52 wickets. He will be missing the second phase of IPL 2021 after the BCB denied giving him and Shakib Al Hasan the NOC for the remaining season.
