The T20 fans are hoping for a World Cup this year as the tournament was postponed last year due to the pandemic and the recent IPL saw players being tested positive which is not an ideal situation. However, the T20 World cup is scheduled in October and there is enough time to move the tournament out of India where the situation is worse.

The BCCI has revealed its backup options with UAE where the IPL was hosted last year in a bio bubble secured environment and it could be the same case this year. With all those happening around the T20 Worldcup, it is time to look at the best T20 XI by picking just 1 player per country.

Paul Stirling is one of the most explosive batsmen in T20 cricket and he has been playing franchise cricket all over the globe. Stirling had played 78 T20 internationals for Ireland and has scored 2124 runs at an average of nearly 30. His strike rate is nearly 140 which shows that he can be very dangerous in the powerplay and he likes to play his shots. He has a lot of experience and is one of the most underrated players.

The Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has been opening for Pakistan in T20 internationals and has been contributing consistently for the side at the top of the order. He has played 36 T20 internationals and has scored 843 runs at an average of 44.4 at a strike rate of 127.3. The 29-year-old plays a lot of classy shots and he can be a player to watch out for in the T20 World Cup after his recent heroics.

Virat Kohli is one of the best match-winners in all formats for India and he is a master of chasing totals. He has played 90 T20 internationals and has scored 3159 runs at an average of 52.6 at a strike rate of 139. Kohli does make it into any playing XI in the world with his ability to read the match situation and he can score quick runs at minimal risks which is a rare feature to have. He is a big match player and contributes immensely to the team’s success.

Nicholas Pooran:

Nicholas Pooran has been going through a tough phase in the IPL but he does favor the format and the elegant left-hander is one of the best stroke makers in the modern game. Pooran’s numbers in T20 internationals aren’t that good, but he can be an impact player in the middle order and can change the game in a very quick time. He can also don the wicket keeping gloves if needed.

Glenn Maxwell is one of the most aggressive batsmen in T20 cricket and he finally showed his prowess in the IPL again recently for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Maxwell is played eighth in the ICC T20 rankings for the batsman and he is one of the natural six hitters. He can play 360-degree shots around the ground and has scored 1780 runs in 72 T20 internationals at a phenomenal strike rate of 158.9. He is a handy off-spinner as well.

Shakib Al Hasan is one of the best all-rounders in world cricket for the last few years and he contributes with both bat and ball equally. Shakib’s left-arm spin is very effective in limited-overs cricket and he has played 76 T20 internationals and has scored 1567 runs at an average of 23.7 at a strike rate of 123.8 apart from his bowling. He can bat anywhere in the batting order and is ranked second in the ICC international T20 all-rounders.

Dhananjaya De Silva is one of the most underrated all-rounders and he has become a regular feature in the Sri Lanka side in all the formats. The 29-year-old bowls off-spin as well as bats in the middle order and is a very handy cricketer. He has played 16 T20 internationals scoring 331 runs at an average of 22.1 and he is one of the best players of spin in the Sri Lankan side.

Rashid Khan is ranked second in the ICC T20 bowlers rankings at the moment and he can be a game-changer to any team he plays. The leg spinner from Afghanistan has played 51 T20 internationals and has picked up 95 wickets at a stunning economy rate of 6.21 and a brilliant average of 12.6. He should be the primary spinner on the side and can be a handy batsman lower down the order.

Jofra Archer is one of the quickest bowlers going around in the world and his raw pace is always going to get him a lot of wickets. Archer hasn’t had much experience in T20 internationals but he is a genuine wicket-taker and can be very lethal in the death overs too. He has played 12 T20 internationals and has picked up 14 wickets at an economy rate of 7.89 and is going to play a big part in the T20 World Cup for England.

Kagiso Rabada:

Kagiso Rabada is one of the best fast bowlers going around in the world at the moment now and he has picked up heaps of wickets in the last two seasons in the IPL for the Delhi Capitals. He has played 26 T20 internationals and has picked up 31 wickets at an economy rate of 8.51. The South African speedster is an automatic pick in any XI and he can do the damage whenever he comes on to bowl.

Trent Boult is one of the best swing bowlers in the world and he is excellent in the powerplays. He moves the ball both ways and is a regular wicket-taking bowler. He has played 34 T20 internationals and has picked up 46 wickets at an economy rate of 8.53 and at an average of 23.3. He generally bowls the tough overs and the New- Zealand’s pace bowler can hit the yorkers in the death overs as well.
