England won the third test against South Africa at Port Elizabeth by an innings and 53 runs in January 2020 and it was their only win by an innings in the tournament.

On the other hand, Pakistan finished fifth on the table with 286 points and at a win percentage of 43.3. Pakistan’s only innings win in the tournament came against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi in February 2020.

South Africa/ Australia – 2

South Africa and Australia both managed to win two Tests by an innings in the tournament and both nations couldn’t make it to the finals of the ICC World Test Championship. Australia finished third in the points table with 332 points and a win percentage of 69.2. Australia won the two matches against Pakistan at home by an innings in 2019.

South Africa never looked like making it to the finals of the tournament and they finished seventh in the table with a win percentage of 30.0. They dominated just two tests and won those games by an innings.

New Zealand – 4

New Zealand finished second in the table and they were the first team to qualify for the World Test Championship finals with 520 points from 11 tests and a win percentage of 70.0. New Zealand did accomplish four innings wins against various opponents which is the second-most in the tournament.

The Kiwis first won against Sri Lanka by an innings and 65 runs, then followed it with two test wins against West Indies at home by innings and their last game of the tournament against Pakistan went their way by an innings and 176 runs.

India had the most wins in the ICC World Test Championship by an innings with five to their name. India finished top of the table with 420 points from 17 tests at a win percentage of 72.2. Their only series defeat came against the Kiwis in a two-test match-away series.

India did not lose a single test in the tournament by an innings and they started with two innings wins at home against South Africa, followed by two innings win against Bangladesh at home, and the final one came against England in the fourth Test of the home series.
