Delhi Capitals might be happy with the resumption of IPL 2021 as they were comfortable in the UAE last year and they might be the least affected team too. They have a lot of Indian stars as well as overseas stars in their lineup and Ricky Ponting does know how to get the best out of the squad.

Delhi Capitals have won six of their eight games already and they need just two more to progress to the playoffs. They will also have their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer back in the squad after an injury break and this will be an added boost to the team as well. Here are 3 players from Delhi Capitals who might miss the 2nd leg.

Chris Woakes is one of the most underrated all-rounders going around in world cricket right now and he does give his 100 per cent whenever he is in the field. He played a great hand for the Delhi Capitals in the first few games this season and had to miss out after the team balance being affected.

He picked up 5 wickets in the 3 games he played this IPL and was brilliant at the death overs as well as in the powerplay. He is very handy down the order with the bat as well and can hit the long balls. He would have had a major role to play in the quick UAE wickets and Delhi might miss him at some stage.

Tom Curran is another all-rounder who bowls a lot of variations in the death overs and back of the hand stuff. He has been playing franchise cricket in all parts of the world and has a lot of experience too. However, he has been always criticized for the fact that he concedes too many runs and is far more expensive.

But, he always relishes the challenge of bowling the tough overs for the side and is a very handy all-rounder down the order as well. He got his chances in the first two games but could pick up just one wicket and his figures were spoiled in the death overs. Curran is part of the England T20 squad and he will have to miss out on IPL 2021 in September with the international schedule.

Sam Billings:

Sam Billings has been in excellent form of late and he has been around in T20 cricket for a long time now. He was picked up by the Delhi Capitals as the backup wicketkeeper option this season and had to wait in the wings for his opportunity. He is an excellent finisher down the order and is one of the exciting prospects going around.

Sam Billings has played 22 IPL games so far and he started his IPL career through the Delhi franchise in 2016 and 2017 editions. He is an important member of the England limited-overs squad and he is also likely to miss out on the IPL 2021 when it resumes in September. Delhi have a backup Indian wicket-keeper option with Vishnu Vinod in the squad.
