The right-handed batsman has led the Indian team in 200 matches. He won the toss in 85 games while lost the toss in 155 matches. Therefore, Virat Kohli has the poorest record with tosses among the other Indian captains in this list.

Virat Kohli has been leading the Indian side since 2013. He has a great record in winning matches. Under Virat Kohli’s leadership, the Indian team has won 128 matches and lost just 55. Three matches ended in a tie while 10 matches ended in a draw. This gives him a win percentage of 64 and a loss percentage of just 27.5.

This means that the wicket-keeper batsman has lost more tosses than won. The right-handed batsman led Indian in 132 matches out of which he won the toss 158 times. He lost the toss in 174 games.

MS Dhoni was the captain of the Indian team from 2007 to 2018. He has won most matches for India as a skipper. Out of 178 matches under Dhoni’s leadership, India won 178 matches and lost 120.

Sourav Ganguly is the 4th player on this list. The former Indian skipper has a win/loss percentage of 0.95 while leading India. This means that the left-handed batsman has lost more tosses than won. Ganguly led the Indian team in 195 matches, winning the toss 95 times and losing on 100 occasions.

Sourav Ganguly has led the Indian team from 1999 to 2005. Under his leadership, India emerged winners in 97 matches and lost 78 games. 15 matches ended in a draw. This gives Sourav Ganguly a win percentage of 49.74 and a loss percentage of 40.

This means that Kapil Dev has lost and won an equal number of tosses. The former Indian all-rounder led India in 108 matches, winning the toss 54 times and losing 54 times.

Kapil Dev was the skipper of India from 1982 to 1987. In 108 games as a skipper, Kapil Dev managed to bag victories in 43 matches and faced defeats in 40 matches. 1 match ended as a tie while 22 matches ended in a draw. This gives him a win percentage of 39.81 and a loss percentage of 37.03.

This means that Azharuddin has won more tosses than lost. The right-handed batsman led India in 221 games, winning the toss 125 times and losing on 96 occasions.

Azharuddin led the Indian team from 1990 to 1999. Under Mohammad Azharuddin’s leadership, India won 104 matches and lost 90. Two matches were tied while 19 games ended in a draw. This gives him a win percentage of 47.05 and a loss percentage of 40.72.

Rahul Dravid is the most successful Indian captain when it comes to winning tosses. The former Indian captain has a win/loss percentage of 1.41 in the toss. This proves that he has won more tosses than losses. Out of 104 games as skipper, Dravid won the toss in 61 matches and lost 43 times.

Rahul Dravid led the Indian team between 2000 to 2007. While leading the Indian team in 104 games, the right-handed batsman lost 50 matches and lost 39. There were 11 matches that ended in a draw. This gives Dravid a win percentage of 48.07 and a loss percentage of 37.5.
