IPL 2008

In the debut edition of IPL 2008, Mumbai Indians were led by Sachin Tendulkar. The team finished on the 5th spot in the points table and failed to qualify for the semi-finals. MI won 7 matches and lost 7 out of 14 they played. In 14 games, the team scored 2080 runs. Sanath Jayasuriya was their highest run-getter with 518 runs in 14 games. In IPL 2013, MI was led by Rohit Sharma for the first time as Sachin Tendulkar had retired from all forms of cricket ahead of the season. In IPL 2020, Mumbai Indians retained their title after defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. The franchise continued their impeccable form of the last season and won 11 games out of 16 while losing only 5. It was Mumbai Indians’ 5^th IPL title. They scored 2735 runs in the season. Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock were MI’s highest run-getter with 516 runs and 503 runs respectively.

IPL 2021

In IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians won 4 matches out of 7 and held the 4th spot in the points table before the tournament got suspended. In 7 matches, Mumbai Indians scored 1120 runs. Skipper Rohit Sharma was the team’s highest run-getter with 250 runs in 7 innings. Suryakumar Yadav followed Sharma on the 2^nd spot with 173 runs in 7 innings.
