ICC Champions Trophy Points Table

The ICC Champions Trophy is undoubtedly one of the most popular tournaments in the game. The competition will be making its highly-awaited return in 2025.

The last edition of the Champions Trophy was held in 2017. Later, the ICC decided to scrap the competition.

As a result, the tournament was not held in 2021. However, the governing body of the game later took a U-turn on its decision and reinstated the Champions Trophy.

As a result, the tournament will be making its much-awaited comeback in 2025. Pakistan have the hosting rights for the 2025 edition. It will be the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy. The inaugural edition was played in the year 1998 in Bangladesh.

South Africa won the first edition by beating West Indies in the final. Since then, India, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Pakistan have also won the tournament.

Of the seven teams that have won the Champions Trophy so far, only India and Australia have won it twice each.

Since 2009, eight teams have been participating in the Champions Trophy. The same number of teams will be competing in the 2025 edition as well.

Pakistan qualified for the competition directly as they are the hosts while the other seven teams qualified by finishing in the top eight of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

With the top eight teams of the world set to fight it out in the Champions Trophy, the tournament is going to be highly competitive.

And the competitive nature of the tournament will be very much reflected by the Champions Trophy points table. So to remain well updated about the table and the teams' standing on it, make sure to follow Cricketaddictor.
