Babar Azam Clarifies The Rumours About His Fight With Shaheen Shah Afridi

Babar Azam had been in the headlines after Pakistan lost the Asia Cup Super 4 encounter against Sri Lanka. It was reported that after the match Babar Azam scolded the team in the dressing room and he minced no words with the non-performing players. He gave them an ultimatum that the World Cup would be their last chance to prove themselves. According to the reports Shaheen Shah Afridi told Babar to at least appreciate the players who batted and bowled well and the skipper didn’t like the interruption.
Babar told Shaheen, “I know who is performing well and who is not.”, As the situation escalated, Mohammad Rizwan and the team’s support staff had to intervene to stop the heated argument. Babar Azam looked distraught as the Pakistan team returned to the hotel.
Now Babar Azam has clarified the incident and has denied all the rumours regarding his fight with Shaheen Shah Afridi. He claimed that the news that was created about his rift with Shaheen was blown completely out of proportion. Babar Azam while addressing the media during the pre-departure press conference ahead of the World Cup on Wednesday said that there is nothing like a rift and that everyone in the team respects each other.

“Everyone gives me respect. We have the same respect for each other and will remain the same. We love each other like a family.” said Babar in the press conference.
