Dale Steyn Names The Team Who Wil Win ICC World Cup 2023

South African Legend Dale Steyn predicted the finalists of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and he picked India and England as his finalists with India winning the tournament rather than selecting his own country. The biggest cricket tournament is all set to begin on 5th October and experts and ex-cricketers are already predicting their favourites to win the World Cup.

Ten Nations will battle each other for the coveted trophy throughout a one-and-a-half-month-long event. The final will be played on 19th November at the Narendra Modi International Stadium, Ahmedabad. India was qualified directly as hosts while South Africa, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan qualified through the Super League. Sri Lanka and the Netherlands later got their spots through the qualifiers.

Dale Steyn said that he feels India and England will play in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. He feels that his former team South Africa is not the favourite to win the World Cup but he accepted that his heart does want to say South Africa. Dale Steyn was a member of South Africa’s World Cup Squad in 2015, where they reached the Semi-Finals but lost to New Zealand.

Dale Steyn Wants South Africa To Reach The Finals

“It’s a tough one, you know my heart wants to go with South Africa making the final. I would love them to make the final, their team, a lot of their players play in the IPL, they play in India regularly,” said Steyn.

“I have a hunch in my heart which says that South Africa will do great in this World Cup. So, for me, it’s India and South Africa. See, South Africa has a great chance to do well in this World Cup because they have arrived here with a strong team.”

“I feel like the favourites would probably be India, I feel like India is going to be one of the finalists and probably England. But my heart wants to say South Africa and India but I am kind of leaning towards India and England,” Dale Steyn further added,

South Africa has shown a lot of improvement coming to the World Cup. Recently they beat Australia in an ODI Series and players like David Miller and Heinrich Klassen were in top form.

Dale Steyn believes that there are a lot of experienced players in the South African side and they can help South Africa to reach the finals. However, the priority might be to have a better campaign than the 2019 World Cup where South Africa had to face a defeat against the likes of Bangladesh.
