Former India Women’s National Cricket Team captain Mithali Raj responded firmly to a social media user who attempted to criticize her for her defensive mindset in ODI cricket. Mithali Raj delivered a strong and impactful reply, shutting down the user’s attempt to troll her.

The recent World Cup 2023 warm-up match between Rohit Sharma’s team and Jos Buttler’s side was washed out due to rain. The hosts won the toss and chose to bat in Guwahati on September 30. Unfortunately, not a single ball could be bowled at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

The Only “Mindset” Reflected In This Tweet Is Yours – Mithali Raj

Speaking before the start of the match between India and England, former England batter Kevin Pietersen stated that the Indian cricket team should aim for 350 runs.

Journalist Shashank Kishore took to X to state that Mithali Raj was happy with a score of 280 in ODI cricket and Kevin Pietersen wanted the team to reach at least 350 runs. He captioned his post “ODI mindset in a sentence,” while adding the quotes of the two former cricketers. Raj responded to the tweet, stating that the tweet reflected his mindset more than hers.

Mithali Raj’s Impressive Performance For India

Mithali Raj announced her retirement from all formats of the game in June last year. The right-handed batter joined as a mentor and adviser for the Gujarat Gaints (GG) franchise in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) earlier this year.

Mithali served as India’s representative for women’s cricket for a long time. The 40-year-old has represented India in 232 ODIs, scoring 7805 runs at an average of 50.68. She holds the record for most runs scored by a batter in the history of women’s cricket in ODI format.

The former skipper is the only cricketer to appear at six Women’s World Cups. She made her World Cup debut appearance in 2000 and went on to play the event in 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2022. India suffered just a nine-run defeat under her leadership in 2017.
