Former Pakistan National Cricket Team pacer Mohammad Asif has become the talk of the town following the controversial statements he made on an X (formerly known as Twitter) space session on Friday night.
Mohammad Asif was one of the most talented pacers to represent Pakistan at the international level and he was destined to achieve greatness. However, his off-field controversies didn’t allow that to happen. The Pakistan pacer tested positive for steroids multiple times and most seriously he was charged in 2010 with spot-fixing, which ended his career.
Meanwhile, during his controversial X space session, Asif talked about several things related to the Pakistan National Cricket Team and one of the clips has gone viral on social media where he could be seen talking about the young pace-bowling sensation Ihsanullah and abusing him.
Recalling his conversation with Ihsanullah, the 40-year-old said that he once told the young pacer to bowl fuller as it would help him to pick more wickets, but in response, the pacer had said that he wanted to hit the batters on the head.
“Hua ye ki maine na Ihsanullah ko ek mashwara diya, maine kaha ki yaar aage se gend karo tum jayda out karoge. Kehra paaji, maine na batsmen ke sar mein gend maarni hai. Maine kaha out ho jayega? toh keh raha nahi. Toh maine kaha bh****ke kaise out hoga. Gend wicketo pe maroge toh out hoga,” he said.

“I can bowl a maiden over to Babar Azam” – Mohammad Asif
During the space, Asif had also claimed that he is still capable of bowling Pakistan captain Babar Azam a maiden over in T20I cricket. While talking about the bowlers in the current Pakistan setup, he said that no bowler is special and everyone is just average.
“I selected Babar Azam in the trials after he faced two balls only, you can ask his father that I picked Babar in ZTBL trials. I rate highly, he is one of the best batters in the country but he plays dots in the power-play and puts pressure on Rizwan,” Asif said in an X space.
“I can bowl a maiden over to Babar Azam in T20 cricket even today, he cannot hit the ball if you bowl good deliveries to him. We have all average bowlers in the squad, there’s none special.”
Mohammad Asif has indeed created a massive controversy with his recent remarks on Pakistan cricket just before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in India.
