According to the recent reports in Cricbuzz, the visa issue of the Pakistan National Cricket Team has been sorted and they have been issued Indian visas for travel to India ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Recently, reports emerged that claimed that the PCB has raised concerns with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the delay in issuing of the Indian visas for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The Men In Green are all set to fly out of Pakistan early morning on Wednesday and then travel to Hyderabad on Wednesday evening.

The Pakistan Cricket Board wrote to the governing body, asking what steps will they take to resolve the issue. They also questioned whether the delay in visas for Team Pakistan constitutes a breach of the hosting agreement of the World Cup.

“It’s a matter of disappointment that the Pakistan team has to go through this uncertainty ahead of the major tournament. We have been reminding [them] about their obligations from last three years and it has all come down to the last two days with our first warm game scheduled on September 29,” PCB statement, as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Team Pakistan Issued Indian Visas

Just a few hours after the reports of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) raising the concern with the ICC due to visa issue went viral, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed to Cricbuzz that everything has been sorted and Pakistan have been cleared to travel to India.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the Indian Government has approved the visas for the Pakistan team. The ICC sources further said that the process took normal administrative procedure.

Also, India Today reported that on September 19, Pakistan applied for visas for travel to India and it took around 5-6 days to get approved, which is quite a normal timeframe.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is the 13th edition of the 50-over Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be held from October 5 to November 19 in India. This is the first time India will be hosting an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup alone. They previously co-hosted the World Cups with other countries in 1987, 1996, and 2011.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on October 6. Ahead of that game, they lock horns with New Zealand and Australia in warm-ups on September 29 and on October 3.
