Rohit Sharma missed the first two ODIs of the IND Vs AUS ODI Series and returned to the final ODI with a bang. Australia were batting first on what was a completely flat track at Rajkot in the third ODI. The Aussies posted a mammoth total of 352/7 on the scoreboard with Mitchell Marsh, David Warner, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne all contributing with the bat.

Rohit Sharma got off to a flying start taking on the Aussies right from the beginning. Sharma scored 81 off just 57 deliveries hitting five fours and six sixes in the process.

However, Glenn Maxwell took a stunning catch off his own delivery to dismiss the Indian Skipper who was looking good enough to take the game away from the Aussies. After Rohit’s wicket, the Indian team kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and as a result, were bowled out on 286 and Australia won the match comfortably by 66 runs.

After the third ODI concluded Marnus Labuschagne had a chat with Fox Sports where he was seen praising Rohit Sharma for his innings. Marnus opined that Rohit is a tough nut to crack when he starts to bat in his flow and his understanding of playing risk-free cricket is just astonishing.

“Rohit Sharma is someone who scored quite freely without taking any risks. He’s very hard to stop once get going,” Marnus Labuschagne said while talking to FOX cricket

Recently, Jhye Richardson also praised Rohit Sharma stating that he is someone who will hit the bowler for 20-24 runs in an over even if the bowler bowls a maiden in the previous over. Rohit Sharma’s intent always makes it difficult for the bowler to bowl to him consistently.

Rohit Sharma’s Record Against Australia Is Astonishing

Rohit Sharma loves to play the Aussies. He has scored 2332 runs in 43 ODI innings against the Kangaroos. His average against them is a whopping 59.79 and he has scored eight centuries and nine half-centuries against Australia in his illustrious ODI career. In the third ODI, he was spot on with the Aussie pace battery of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc taking them on and hitting them.

Australia will face the hosts India in their opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The five-time World Champions should prepare a strategy against Rohit Sharma as he can prove a big threat if the Aussies don’t get him out inside the first 10-15 overs.
