Tamim Iqbal Makes Explosive Revelations After Being Snubbed From Bangladesh World Cup Squad, Says He Was Fit Enough To Play

Former Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal has made a few explosive revelations after being snubbed from the Bangladesh squad that was announced for the ICC World Cup 2023. Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Tigers in the World Cup.
As per reports in the Daily Star, the team departed for India earlier today at 4 p.m. Tamim who was discarded from selection for the ICC World Cup 2023 in a Facebook post revealed that in a press conference later today, he will open up on the events that developed over the last few days and will also break his silence on not being a part of the World Cup squad.
At the press conference, he opened up on his non-selection in the World Cup squad and commented on the events leading to him being dropped from the squad.
As per BDCrictime, Tamim said that one of the board officials told him that he is in the team’s plans for the World Cup despite his concerns with a back injury. He further said that he disagreed with the board official’s suggestion of not playing Bangladesh’s campaign opener against Afghanistan.

“After batting in 2nd game, a top BCB official, who was involved with us told me that you’re going to the World Cup, We’ve to manage you. So you don’t play the first game against Afghanistan.
“I was shocked. Then he offered me to bat at the lower order. Look I never played at No.3, 4 or 5 in my career. How can I bat in lower order? I told them if this is the plan then keep me away from dirty things, Don’t send me to India,” says Tamm Iqbal as per BDCrictime.

Tamim further clarified that he was fit enough to play in the World Cup after the Bangladesh Chief Selector said that the major reason why Bangladesh decided not to include him in the squad was his back injury.

“I didn’t tell anyone that I can play only 5 matches. I don’t who spread this. It was a completely false news. I was fit enough to play World Cup,” BDCrictime further quoted him saying.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh squad has already departed for India and they begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on October 7. They play their last league game against Australia on November 12.
