The official broadcaster of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Star Sports, has unveiled the 11 players to watch out for in the marquee event in India. The playing XI, which included players from the participating nations, was decided by cricket experts and fan votes.
The ODI World Cup will commence with defending champions England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5. The tournament will feature a round-robin format, with all 10 teams playing against each other in group-stage matches.

In a video shared on Star Sports’ official YouTube channel, cricket experts selected the playing XI from among the teams participating in the World Cup. These experts also shared their insights and reasons for choosing the players to watch out for in the tournament.
Shubman Gill Named As Opener To Watch Out For
Young Indian opener Shubman Gill has been named as the opener in the side alongside his skipper Rohit Sharma. The former cricketers then picked ace Indian batter Virat Kohli and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam for the next two crucial positions in the batting order.
They named South African batter Heinrich Klaasen and England’s wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler for the No. 5 and 6 roles, respectively. Star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who is the only genuine all-rounder in the lineup, is assigned to bat at the No. 7 position.
