Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf gave a positive update about his fitness ahead of the ICC World Cup 2023. He revealed that he’s 100% fit and also talked about the strategies that he will be having going into the tournament. 

Haris Rauf suffered a niggle during the Asia Cup 2023. He got injured in the Super Four game against India and didn’t take part in the rest of the tournament. The fast bowler was rested by the management as a precautionary measure, considering the further part of the tournament along with the ICC World Cup 2023. 

There was a lot of speculation about Haris Rauf’s fitness for the ICC World Cup 2023. However, he was named in the Pakistan squad, which gave an indication of his fitness. The fast bowler has been the strike bowler for his team and is the genuine wicket-taker for his side.

Haris Rauf was asked about his fitness during the media talk session in Lahore ahead of the team’s departure for the World Cup. He made a hilarious gesture, expressing that he was fit. Here’s the video:

Haris Rauf was further asked about match strategies, replying to which he said it would depend on the team management as to how they want to use him. He added: 

“Playing in any tournament for your country is a big deal. My fitness is better than before. We have confidence in ourselves as a team. The team management will decide whether to give me the new ball or the old ball.”

Haris Rauf was further asked if he had any specific goals for the World Cup. He stressed that he doesn’t have any individual goal as his focus is on the team performance. He explained: 

“I have no specific goal set for the World Cup. More emphasis is on team performance than individual performance.”
