Yuvraj Singh Picks 2 Players Who Can Solve India's Number 4 Crisis Ahead Of The World Cup

The Indian Team has been looking for a stable number 4 batter for years now and not a single player has performed well enough to seal the spot. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is about to begin and the team is still looking confused regarding the number 4 spot. Rishabh Pant showed some signs as a number 4 batter in ODIs but since he is not available for the World Cup, the Indian team needs to put a full stop on this number 4 conundrum.
Former India Cricketer and Player of the Tournament for ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Yuvraj Singh, names two Indian players who can solve this number 4 conundrum for India. Yuvraj Singh, who had himself batted at number 4 for India quite a few times has named KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer for the number 4 spot.
KL Rahul has played 11 innings for India at number 4 and has scored 481 runs with an average of 60.13. He has got two half-centuries and two centuries while batting at that position.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer has played 22 innings for India at number 4 and has scored 867 runs with an average of 45.63 and a whopping strike rate of 95.80. He has scored five half-centuries and two centuries batting at that position.
Both the players have a good record for India while batting at number 4 and that is why Yuvraj Singh has named these two players as his pick for India’s number 4.
KL Rahul recently impressed a lot batting at number 4, he scored a hundred against Pakistan in the Asia Cup while batting at number 4 and scoring consecutive fifties against Australia in the ODI series.
Yuvraj Singh Urged The Indian Team To Finalise Their Number 4
“So Whoever between KL Rahul or Shreyas Iyer bats at number 4, I don’t think India should chop and change anymore because both are coming back from an injury and both need game time,” said Yuvraj Singh. He also advised the Rohit Sharma-led team to play without taking too much pressure from the expectations of winning the World Cup. “Keeping up with the expectation. They should be playing the situation and not the expectation,” he added.
India will kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia on 8th October but before that, they have two warm-up games against England and the Netherlands respectively. This is a great opportunity to test both the batters at number 4 and see who is better at that position for the World Cup.
