Scotland have done exceedingly well to qualify for the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They finished the first round at number one position, winning three out of three games.

They are coming into the contest on the back of a comprehensive 8-wicket win over Oman. Ahead of the first game in the Super 12s against Afghanistan at Sharjah International Stadium, Scotland would look to continue the winning momentum and progress further. On that note, here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of Scotland against Afghanistan.

AFG vs SCO: Scotland’s (SCO) Predicted Playing XI Against Afghanistan (AFG) – ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Match 17

Openers: George Munsey and Kyle Coetzer

The openers stitched a decent-looking 33-run partnership in the last game against Oman. Munsey scored 20 off 19 deliveries before failing to convert another start into a big score. The match on Monday could be that game for him to do that. Skipper Kyle Coetzer returned to form with a match-winning 41-run knock of just 28 balls. That would have given him an immense amount of confidence heading into the all-important match.

Middle-Overs: Mathew Cross, Richie Berrington, Calum MacLeod

In 3 matches, he has managed to score 103 runs at an average of 51.50. Mathew Cross too played a handy 26-run knock off 35 balls, guiding the side home in 17 overs against Oman. Culum MacLeod didn’t bat in the last game but he should retain his place in the side.

All-rounders: Chris Greaves and Mark Watt

The fans would hope that he turns up well with both bat and ball in the important match on Monday. Markk Watt bowled exceedingly well in the last game for his 1 for 23 in 4 overs.

Bowlers: Josh Davey, Safyaan Sharif and Bradley Wheal
