Namibia would be proud of the way they have played in the tournament so far. In their first-ever ICC tournament, Namibia managed to beat teams like the Netherlands and Ireland to reach the Super 12 stage.

They began their Super-12 campaign with a win against Scotland. However, their winning streak was ended on Sunday after suffering a 62-run defeat at the hands of Afghanistan. Gerhard Erasmus and Co. are slated to play their next game against Pakistan on Tuesday.

They would be hoping to get back to winning ways. In this article, we look at the predicted playing XI of Namibia for the match.

Michael Van Lingen’s promotion hasn’t done really well for the side. He got starts in the last two games but hasn’t been able to convert them into big scores. Craig Williams too has been guilty of posting low scores. He got out on 1 off 3 balls in the last game against Afghanistan. Overall, he has 79 runs to his name in 5 matches at an average of 15.8.

Middle-order: Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Gerhard Erasmus, Zane Green

Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton was promoted up the order in the last game. He batted at number three and scored 14 off 16 balls. Besides, he was the only player who troubled the Afghanistan batsmen with his spin. He took 2 wickets for just 21 runs in 4 overs.

Skipper Gerhard Erasmus endured poor numbers in the last two games. He scored 4 and 12 runs against Scotland and Afghanistan respectively. For Namibia to win the game, Erasmus needs to make a significant contribution with the bat. Zane Green is likely to continue donning the gloves.

David Wiese, Namibia

David Wiese will once again be one of the biggest bets in the team. He will have an important role to play both with the bat and ball. Wiese top-scored for the team in the last game against Afghanistan. He made 26 off 30 balls, including 2 fours. JJ Smith was decent with the ball in the last game, picking 1 for 22.

He played an unbeaten 32-run knock off 23 balls against Scotland but couldn’t replicate a similar performance in the last game against Afghanistan. Jan Frylinck has the most number of wickets for the team in the tournament. He has 7 wickets in 5 matches. Although, he endured a forgettable outing with the ball in the last game against Afghanistan, conceding 34 runs in 3 overs.

Bowlers: Picki Ya France, Ruben Trumpelmann and Bernard Scholtz

Ruben Trumplemann has been in pretty good form with the ball. In the last two games, he has managed to pick 5 wickets. The team would be pinning their hopes on him to come good in an important encounter on Tuesday. The likes of Picki Ya France and Bernard Scholtz should complete the playing XI.
